The improved aerodynamics of the Passat Estate BlueMotion not only add as much as 5 km/h to its top speed on the motorway compared with the basic model. Fine-tuning of the body and the lowering of the front suspension by approx. 15 mm (and of the rear suspension by approx. 8 mm) also reduce aerodynamic drag, which in turn helps to keep fuel consumption low.
