Environmental protection
Preliminary activities
Carrying out of ecological examinations before taking over the site => no evidence of contamination
Starting basis ( evaluation of environmental sensitivity through tests) for the formulation of the environmental standards at the site
Confirmation that the standards are adhered to through an independent ecology expert's report (created as part of the construction approval procedure by a technical consultant)
Internal measures
New employees educated on environmental protection topics
Environmental management system implemented (goal: certification in accordance with ISO 14001 in 2010 (along with the incorporation of vehicle production))
External measures
Waste disposal infrastructure of the Kaluga region not currently suited to the specific needs of the automobile industry => VW Rus supports the state authorities to help develop a modern and sustainable waste disposal infrastructure
