It is the heart of the new Golf GTI. The 2.0l TSI engine beats at a thrilling 155 kW (210 hp) and races from standstill to 100 km in 6.9 seconds – and on to a top speed of up to 240 km/h (fuel consumption: 7.3 – 7.4 l/100 km; CO2 emissions: 170 – 173 g/km**). For anyone wishing to save themselves the chore of changing gear, there is the option of the DSG six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Driving pleasure with greater peace of mind

The new Golf GTI boasts an outstanding safety concept, equipped as it is with the latest generation of ESP, counter-steering assistance, ABS with brake assist, engine drag torque control (MSR) and trailer stabilisation. Traction control (ASR) prevents the wheels from spinning on slippery surfaces, while optimum occupant protection is offered in the form of airbags for the driver and front passenger with deactivation facility on the front passenger side, head and side airbag systems, plus a knee airbag for the driver.
