The Passat Estate with BlueMotion Technology.

The Passat Estate’s history with BlueMotion is long.
  • 2007: Introduction of the first Passat Estate BlueMotion – soon thereafter, the car was named one of the top 3 “World Green Cars 2008”
  • 2008: Introduction of the 2.0 TDI common rail engine as BlueMotion – first time ever with the start-stop system
  • 2009: Democratisation of the BlueMotion models: The 1.4 TSI engine as well as the Direct Shift Gearbox DSG offered for the first time as BlueMotion Technology
  • 2009: 2 new diesel engines (1.6 and 2.0 TDI) arrive, with even more reduced fuel consumption levels i.e. through brake energy regeneration

The Passat Estate therefore has the largest selection of engines within the BlueMotion Technology family. And in combination with DSG, you receive a completely new feature: the Freewheel function, which allows the vehicle to continue to roll without engine braking losses.
The Passat Estate with BlueMotion Technology is available in the “Trendline”, “Comfortline”, “Sportline” and “Highline” equipment lines.

* The fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of a vehicle do not just depend on the efficient utilisation of the fuel by the vehicle, but are also influenced by driving style and other non-technical factors. CO2 is the greenhouse gas that is primarily responsible for global warming. The values stated were calculated according to the measuring methods specified in the currently applicable version of Directive 80/1268/EEC. The data does not relate to a specific vehicle and is not part of the specification, but is merely for the purpose of comparing different vehicle types. Information on official fuel consumption figures and the official specific CO2 emissions of new passenger cars can be found in the EU guide "Information on the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of new cars", which is available free of charge at all sales dealerships and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Helmuth-Hirth-Straße 1,73760 Ostfildern, Germany.
