Indeed, no less than six models – the Polo, Golf, Tiguan, Touran, Passat and Touareg – received top marks in the tests, securing five stars. This makes the Volkswagen model range one of the safest anywhere in the world. | 09/07/2009 I Models Awarded the Environmental Commendation: the new Polo Environmentally friendly from start to finish: a vehicle’s eco balance is measured not only in terms of fuel consumption and emissions. The Environmental Commendation, certified by the technical inspection authority TÜV Nord, takes into account the entire life cycle of the vehicle – from production through to use and disposal – and compares the data with that of the previous model. Result: the new Polo comes off even better than its already very good predecessor. A brochure, which is available to download as a PDF file, documents the ecological progress achieved. |
